Darryl Payne Jr
The Barracuda Foundation is proud to partner with Team USA Skeleton member and 2022 Olympic Hopeful Darryl Payne Jr.
A former sprinter and hurdler at Baylor University Payne Jr's goal had been to represent the USA in Rio but after missing the cut Darryl refused to relinquish his Olympic dreams and continued training.
In 2017 he was identified for his skeleton potential at the USA Olympic Committee scouting combine. Currently no African American has ever represented the United States at the Winter Olympic Games in Skeleton. Darryl lives and trains in Austin, TX.
